CARING FOR THE WHOLE PERSON

Vocational
Employment provides dignity and structure, but a vocation provides meaning. Our residents learn to ask the question, “What is my next best educational step?†in four one-hour classes per week, including resume writing, certifications, vocational tech, and college courses.
Spiritual
Spiritual development is the cornerstone of our approach. A person willing to humble themselves before their Creator will be open to information, guidance, and transformative change. This takes place through reading the Bible, meditation and prayer, journaling, and volunteering.
Emotional
In one-on-one conversations and group discussions, residents work to develop their Emotional Quotient. Central Care Mission teaches an understanding of mental, emotional, and relationship health, including restoring relationships through forgiveness, the emotional chain of pathology, anger management, and creating and respecting boundaries.
Financial
Taking care of our financial obligations eliminates a major stressor and trigger. Fear and lack of understanding cause many people to simply ignore their financial issues and hope they go away. Our residents learn about planning for debt elimination, creating a realistic budget, opening a checking and savings account, and managing mortgages, loans, and rental agreements.
Physical
Central Care Mission believes that physical activity is an essential and positive life skill. All residents work out for 45 minutes, three times per week, with activities including weight lifting, team sports (basketball, volleyball, whiffle ball), running or fast walking, and bike riding.
