Frequently Asked Questions
Our program at Central Care Mission is designed to be a minimum of one year. This time allows for the man to learn and create new habits that will last a lifetime.
However, we’ve found that those who stay longer often experience even greater success. The additional time helps to deepen personal growth and strengthen the skills necessary for lasting change.
Turning your life around isn’t a race, it’s a journey. Remember, it took more than 30, 60, or 90 days to get here, it’ll take longer than that to find your path again.
We’re here to support you every step of the way, and we’re committed to helping you build a strong foundation for the rest of your life.
Our program is for men ready to dedicate a year to personal growth and transformation.
We’re looking for those open to our faith-based, science-driven approach, eager to engage with our supportive community, and committed to making a lasting change.
To apply, please bring one form of ID (driver’s license, state ID, birth certificate, social security card, or passport). Any relevant legal documents, like probation or court paperwork, are also helpful.
While we welcome men from all walks of life, we are unable to admit individuals with convictions for sexual offenses.
Basic reading and writing skills in English (around a 6th-grade level) help you get the most out of the program, though we also have Spanish curriculum copies.
Physical well-being is a core part of our mission, so everyone takes part in workouts at least three times a week.
If possible, bring your personal essentials, like everyday clothes, work boots, socks, underwear, personal care items, and any medications. If you’re missing anything, we’ll work to help provide it.
Once accepted, your journey with us begins right after your interview.
You don’t need a referral to apply. Our doors are open to anyone ready to commit to change, and we’re eager to support you on this journey.
While we strive to help as many men as possible, not everyone who applies is accepted into our program. Our process ensures that we can provide the right support and resources to those who are truly committed to transforming their lives. We carefully consider each application to make sure our program is the best fit for the individual’s needs and circumstances.
As part of our intake process, we also conduct a thorough background check to ensure the well-being of everyone involved. This may limit applicants from continuing the application process if they have a violent criminal record or have been convicted of sexual offenses.
Applicants with outstanding court dates should resolve them before applying. Men can not be court ordered to Central Care Mission, but CAN be on probation and CAN be ordered to a program, just not specifically ours.
At Central Care Mission, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive community for all.
Yes, as part of our intake process, we conduct a thorough background check to ensure the well-being of everyone involved. We understand that this can be a sensitive step, but it is a vital one as we champion openness and honesty.
Please know that while we strive to support as many individuals as possible, there are certain circumstances where we may be unable to accept someone based on their background check results. Central Care Mission has the right to refuse entry to those with violent criminal convictions. We’re also unable to extend our transformative programs to those with a history of sexual offenses. If this happens, we will offer guidance on alternative paths to help you in your journey.
There’s no upfront payment required when you join us. Instead, a $175 application fee and a $190 weekly program fee will be billed to your account when you start. Each following Friday, a $190 weekly program fee is assessed, and is not pro-rated. In addition, Transportation is provided for $10 a day.
Your earnings will go into a trust account and your program fees will be paid from there. Any remaining amount will be saved for your future. Complete a year with us, and all your savings will be returned to you. If you decide to leave before 1 year is over, there will be a $1000 fee.
Over half of the cost of your enrollment in the program is funded by generous individuals who believe in your journey to transformation. Your hard work supplies the rest.
Financial worries shouldn’t stand in the way of transformation. Thanks to generous donors, more than half of the actual program cost is covered, with the remaining portion providing each man a personal investment in his journey.
We are a working program, and no upfront payment is required. Program fees are billed to your account once you join, and earnings are placed in a trust account to cover fees, with the remainder saved for your future.
If you encounter financial setbacks, your stay remains secure, supported by those who believe in your growth.
Yes, Central Care Mission is a working program, and each participant is required to maintain employment as part of building a stable foundation. We believe in a balanced approach that prevents both cycles of unemployment and the burnout that comes with overwork. Our goal is to help you find the right balance, allowing you to focus on personal growth while preparing for a productive, healthy future.
At Central Care Mission, we welcome men from all backgrounds. While our program is rooted in Christian values and incorporates church attendance and Bible study as part of the journey, we do not require participants to hold Christian beliefs. We ask only that each individual be open and respectful toward our faith-based approach, as it’s a foundational part of the community and support we offer. Our mission is to walk alongside you, sharing hope and strength as we work together toward lasting transformation.
When you join Central Care Mission, you become part of a caring community that feels like friends and family, here to support you every step of the way.
You’ll have a comfortable place to live, with nutritious meals provided to keep you healthy and strong. Our campus offers a range of activities to build physical and mental strength, like basketball, volleyball, biking, and spaces for reflection.
We provide transportation and vocational assistance, along with dedicated case management to guide you through each phase of the program.
You’ll take part in life skills training that covers handling emotions, managing money, building a career, and growing in faith.
Mentors are also here to guide you, sharing their own experiences to encourage and support you.
We believe in your potential and are dedicated to helping you build a brighter future.
Due to limited storage, new clients are asked to bring only essential items when joining the program.
For your interview or in-person application, please bring one bag, around 21″ x 14″ x 13″ in size, for your belongings. Here’s a quick list of what’s needed:
Please note: Knives, weapons, food, and beverages are not allowed. Cell phones may be brought but will not be used until approved by case management.
At Central Care Mission, we believe that a supportive and structured environment is key to transformation. Our living arrangements reflect our commitment to fostering a sense of community and brotherhood.
Clients share living spaces, which encourages camaraderie and mutual support. Each room is thoughtfully designed to be comfortable and welcoming, providing a peaceful space for reflection and growth.
We focus on creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere where men can focus on their recovery and personal development. The shared spaces offer opportunities for building connections, engaging in meaningful conversations, and participating in group activities. With a balanced blend of privacy and community interaction, our living arrangements are crafted to help clients feel at home while they work towards a brighter future.
We believe that family support is an essential part of your journey to lasting change.
Upon arrival, you’ll be encouraged to contact one loved one to share that you’re safe and beginning this new chapter.
After this, there is a 30-day period with no contact from friends or family, providing an initial space to fully focus on your growth and adjustment.
Although personal cell phones are not permitted during the first six months, you’ll be able to connect with family and friends via the house phone after the 30-day period.
After 90 days, clients may also request day passes and eventually overnight passes to visit with loved ones who provide safe, supportive environments for their transformation.
We’re here to help you rebuild and strengthen these bonds as you pursue a brighter future. Together, we’ll ensure your family remains a meaningful part of your journey forward.
