A typical Mentor Night looks like:

• 6:00pm – 6:45pm – Time with Staff & Mentors
  • Dinner is provided and brief introductions are made as we begin our evening together. Then, Central Care Mission staff share the month’s developments with mentors. Usually photos and short biographies are displayed on each client, allowing mentors to be brought up to speed on longer-term clients and to be introduced to newer clients. This also allows a mentor to pre-select someone based on mutual interests.
  • Staff members will take some time to educate the mentors about the program we offer so mentors know how to ask leading questions and pursue accountable relationship with the clients. Sometimes we hold celebrations of graduations within the program, sharing testimonies and communion together.

• 6:45pm – 7:30pm – Mentors & Clients Meet
  • Clients and mentors gather together for worship, phase-ups, and testimonies.

• 7:30pm – 8:00pm
  • This is a very unstructured time on the surface of things. But many conversations happen that are personal, critical, and transforming. This time is often accompanied by cigars. Mentoring time can be one-on-one, small groups of two or three, and even several mentors with a larger group. These configurations are spontaneous and unstructured. We often have times of prayer for the guys some time during the night.
